Papers relating to the construction, exhibit, and loss of Joseph Duchesne's model of Boston which he designed and built from 1809-1817. Includes newspaper reviews of the exhibit which was built on a scale of 1:320. Annie Haven Thwing and her brother Walter give separate accounts as to how their father Samuel Clap Thwing located the model in Haiti where Duchesne was then living and brought it back for further display in Boston. The model is believed to have been destroyed in the fire of 1872.
